when i almost got expelled from GVSU with Jason Caroland

27 March, 1998

Chuck,
I am headed home and youíre not around right now. If you want to call me at home the # is 248 478 XXXX. We turned off the water heater because we thought we had 2. Why waste a fossil fuel for no reason heating up 2 units. Well we were wrong and it wasnít ours. I thought I was doing the Earth good but alas I was just misinformed. Iíll be back next week sometime but Iíll be filming one of 3 projects I have due so good luck catching me unless youíre downtown looking for a fool running around with a camera..
Why you are calling the turning of a knob destruction of property is ludicrous. I apoligize to you, maintenance and whoever the ill fated person in the shower was. We didnít destroy anything except a warm morning shower.

Sincerely,

Dan Boujoulian
Ravine 47

[ We found a locked door in our apartment. We didn't know what it was, so we made it our mission to find out. Inside we found a water heater. The first time we turned it off they were like 'oh the pilot light blew out.' Days later while it was still funny to us we kept doing it and eventually got busted for it. ]

music

Ok. My new friend, Bryna sent me here
and it was pretty cool, well actually she said...

Hey Dan, check
out this site
for a very cool overview of Detroit's

legendary psychedelic warriors. I've had
the pleasure of meeting and

hanging out with some of these fine people.
Scott Morgan ws recently out

here recording for our label, and Steve Farmer
spent a couple weeks as

my houseguest while recording with my band.
A memorable experience!

Cheers,

Bryna

this is her band's page...(they really need to update it though!)

As per Ryan Campell's suggestion, I picked up David Crosby "I can't remember my name" - It's decent. I really dig one of the tracks that has Steven Stills, Graham Nash, Grace Slick, Paul Kanter, Jorma K. It's a really cool tune. I also picked up something that came out 2 weeks ago, but it's not new. Mustard Plug re-issued 'skapocalypse now' on CD, with extra live tracks that weren't on the tape.
Dave promised me he would sign a photograph so I could give it to Chrissy, who's CRAZY about him (and the band) I haven't done that yet, maybe he forgot. He was supposed to drop by kinko's and see me but he never did.
oh well.

Cool! I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Bomp Records. That's my new thing. They are cool, primarily mail order. I got a Spacemen 3 CD and some indie Detroit band LPs from the 80s. I'm still crazy about
and Catherine Wheel - Adam and Eve. I got The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds Sessions, that's really good. I picked up the new Lisa Loeb. I only like the single so far. Maybe it will grow on me. I should have bought Clutch instead.
That's about it.

The Guitar

Guess what?

I bought a guitar.

Weird, huh?

I "borrowed" Mike's guitar over Christmas break. It's hard to learn on a 12 string acoustic. Then we both went back to school. A bit later we were both home the same weekend and we went out and I bought a 6 string acoustic. It's fun.

People tell me I'm good. I don't think so. My fingers still hurt.
Last week I was showing some guy some things. He asked how long I was playing for, said he's been playing for a year. I meakly said, "Umm. A month or so maybe." He didn't believe me.
As of right now I can play the opening to Wish You Were Here, Redemption Song, a bit of Exit Music (for a film) and the first 6 or so notes of Brimful of Asha.

I wrote my first song, it's kinda depressing, not very musically solid, but hey, it's my first song so I won't complain too much.

Well I just learned a little bit of Here Comes the Sun last night. I think the tab is wrong, it's got the capo on the 7th fret, I just can't imagine George fooling around that far down. I saw another TAB on the fourth fret but that one didn't sound right, I need to find a happy medium. I also learned the riff for Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon, but I need to work on my fingers for the chords, it hurts too much too push down real hard so I just mute the notes. Not very effective.

Well, I just found a much better site. Here comes the sun. baby. I'll get it soon, I swear! In fact, minutes ago I was trying and Jeremy said "THAT WAS IT!!!" I have be quiet.. for Darlene is sleeping.

Well I've almost got Wish You Were Here down and I've got a damn fine Ripple happening.
