313

Well i hung out in the 313 today.

Pat Murphy came up to my work and we went downtown. His wife ditched him and he needed a companion to go see The Fun Lovin' Criminals and I was down for it.

We parked near the Hard Rock Cafe in Detroit and walked to the restaurant. There were about 300 people waiting in line to get sat. So we walked 7 blocks down Woodward to Hockeytown where I had a veggie sandwich. Then we walked thru Greektown and down Congress to St. Andrews Hall.

It was there we saw a posted sign that said "Fun Lovin' Criminals cancelled." So we walked back to my car, went to my work, fixed us up some cocktails and watched X-Men 2 on DVD i had picked up earlier today.

All in all, not a bad night, but the show would have been a lot of fun

back to work!

the first day back to work after a break is always rough. It's not that there is anything taxing going on really, I was busy this morning, but I could have had nothing to do at all and it still would have been hard. i need a day off in between play and work to get my brain back to work mode.

my leg is killing me. the muscles in the back of my shin hurt like hell from being poised to hti the brake or gas pedals for 5 days straight.

i drove the whole way from boston to detroit with no help from rita or scotty. Scotty kept me company until mid-ohio and rita slept the whole way. in fact rita slept the whole way since about the 2nd day of the trip. she even slept at the shows... i don't get it...

i never got my clam chowder while in boston. so i need to go back thats for sure. i was feeling a little ill being around the sickly rita.. (we referred to her as the "monkey from outbreak")

all in all the trip was fun but it could have been a lot better with some better attitude and a lot more friends.

next time i do phish tour i am gonna hit up the west coast and party with mike and katie again. THOSE ARE MY PHISH KIDS

Michigan seems like a dream to me now...

a thousand miles from home. 5 days. 4 phish shows: New York City, Philadelphia, Alban & Boston. What a way to celebrate 20 years of Phish!!!

Every mile has its own memory. Every village, every town, every metropolitan spread of skyscrapers reaching into the sky.

Sweet!

Mike just gave me a Newton, which was a PDA type device before PDAs existed. Apple made it of course. I actually labelled my iPod Newton 2.0 since it has all my calendar info and friends phone numbers. Pretty sweet!

Cambridge, Massachusetts

We are at Mike Cyrulnik's now. Rita is totally sick. I am getting a little sick as I have been sharing air with her for the last 5 days. She's been making out with someone different in every state, and the guy in Philadelphia had some throught disease.

I hope we don't get these MIT kids sick. Thanks for letting us stay at your place, you'll be healthy again on Sunday!

Tonight is our last night of Phish. The 20th anniversary show. I hope they open with Sgt. Pepper ("It was 20 years ago today..)

The trip is quickly winding to a close. I am excited I get to take Mike to see Phish. The first time I met Mike in 1991 or so, my dad wouldn't let me go out with them. They were going bowling or something. When Mike tells the story about my dad answering the door in his underwear, it's pretty fucking funny. He always makes it sound like my dad answered the door in my underwear. Silly man.

I hope we get to check out some of Boston today. I haven't been here since September.

Ocean City, Maryland

Goodbye ocean!!!

I am at an internet cafe off the main strip here in Ocean City. paying $5 to route a map to Albany as I was NOT prepared to be in this state I have no maps prepared. Rita makes fun of me because I have all these folders for each state we're in and each states folder has the maps we need, venue information, etc etc.

Its a 6 hours drive to Albany NY so that kinda sucks. Its worse probably as Maryland and Delaware have a highway speed limit of 55. Like its the 80s or something. jeez.. well here's to avoiding a ticket!

I'll be in Boston, MA in the morning, we're sleeping at Mike Cyrulniks.. Woo hoo. I haven't seen him in ages. It's going to be his first Phish show tomorrow night.

This trip is so much fun. I am getting a little road weary tho, my body is tired... I hope I can last thru the night. Wish me luck!

Ocean City, Maryland

Just watched the sun rise over the Atlantic. The cold wind made me go back inside before too long but the view will remain in my memory. I took some audio samples of the ocean from the iPod recorder. Pretty cool, I hope it turns out.

Rita is outside cathering shells. She is gonna get sick before we get home. Its December! stop playing on the ocean front!
